--Hardening. any process of the increasing hardness of a metal by suitable treatment usually involves heating and cooling.

    P.S.727 C to 1341F is temper Carbon Steel, heat below the critical range, and quench., depending on the carbon content.

--Annealing. is a process involving heating and cooling, applied usually to induce softening. 

--Non Destructive Test for cracks and flaws in steel, without changing its physical shape=

   (1) Magnetic particle inspection for some material that has Magnetic force etc.;

   (2) Dye penetrant inspection.

--If conveyor belts slip in wet conditions, apply Pulverized Lime

--Stress: Pounds/per square inch (imperial system)

--  Tensile Stress is shortened/ compresses the material

  Shearing Stress

--Ultimate Tensile Stress =Maximum PULL

--Flux is a fusible material for welding etc.

--Cutting:

   Stainless Steel, using the Plasma and TTG(high-pressure gas . ie. 80psi Argon)

   Cast Iron, high-pressure water with carborundum(grinding )grit mixed in.

--Reamers: Never turn the reamer backward to extract it; this will dull the edges. Either push it thru the hole or pull it out, always rotating it clockwise while you do.

--Set screw position: to hold a sprocket of coupling etc. remembers: set screw at 90 degrees to the original set screw.

A globe valve: belongs to Fluid Valve (using Bernoulli's Principle ). so you can call it Throttle. 

it regulates the flow of a pipeline. It is used to control or stop the flow of liquid or gas through a pipe. Globe valves are named for their spherical body shape with the two halves of the body being separated by an internal baffle.

Although these valves exhibit slightly higher pressure drops than gate/ball valves, they may be used where the pressure drop through the valve is not a controlling factor.

Globe valves are also known as throttle valves.
